Overview

Alat is a Crimesync utility that empowers law enforcement officers to generate incident numbers in realtime. The USSD short code can only be accessed by registered account holders.

A police officer who is a registered Alat user, investigating a murder incident in Kamakwie, will be able to generate a unique Alat code - incident number. This number is a combination of the 2-last-digits of the year and 6-digit auto-generated number. This unique number can translate to a case number while going through the criminal justice system.

Customer Journey

Web user:

• User enters phone number and if permitted
• User receives OTP to allow access
• User manages the platform

1919 user:

• User dials *1919# and runs through ACL to confirm access
• Authorised user is greeted and presented with a menu showing location
• User confirms name and location
• User confirms whether its sgbv and or committed by minor
